Little Hours play shows over the weekend

Little Hours aka John Doherty

DONEGAL rock/pop outfit Little Hours is on a Ireland/UK tour coming to Dolan’s Warehouse this Friday April 20. Fresh from opening for label-mates Hudson Taylor on their sold out European tour, and warming up the nation’s dance-floors with a Mowe remix of ‘Later On’, Donegal’s Little Hours – aka multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter John Doherty has released a new single called ‘Heavy On You’ which is getting the band a lot of airplay in the lead up to the tour.

The single follows the ‘Too Much Patience’ EP which came out late last year which got a very positive reaction for its commentary on the hardships of immigration in their video for ‘Water’.

John Doherty will play an acoustic set in store at Steamboat Music on Saturday April 21 for Record Store Day from 1pm.

Little Hours got their first break when they won a competition to play Electric Picnic. After finding a manager – a sold-out showcase gig in Dublin brought them to the table of Sony RCA Records. The record company signed them straight away and much more music is expected from Little Hours in 2018.

Originally a duo, guitarist Ryan McCloskey called time on Little Hours to pursue other career options after the band’s appearance on the Main Stage at Electric Picnic in 2017, three years on from that first EP gig to just 20 punters.
The guitarist stated, “I want to be very clear that there’s been no falling out between me and John, this is just a career move for me. It feels like a good time to try out something different.”
