James Chawke competes in Isle of Man TT

James Chawke/Chawke Racing Team were honoured with the Monster Energy TT People's Challenger Award, which is a fan-voted recognition of his dedication, determination and commitment as a private competitor.

JAMES Chawke, Rathkeale, completed a successful Isle of Man TT campaign across three classes, showing steady progress and consistency around the Mountain Course.

In the RST Superbike TT, Chawke finished 27th aboard the BMW, recording a standing start lap of 125.9mp/h and consistently lapping in the 124–126 mph range across the six-lap race.

The Supersport races aboard the Suzuki 750 saw continued improvement.

Chawke finished 28th in Race 1, setting a fastest lap of 119.24 mph, before improving to 27th in Race 2 with a personal best lap of 119.95 mp/h, narrowly missing the coveted 120mp/h barrier

One of the standout performances came in the Sport Bike TT on the RL Racing Aprilia RS660, where Chawke secured 22nd place. His fastest lap of the race was 114.67mp/h, demonstrating strong pace and growing confidence on the lightweight machine.

To cap off the fortnight, Chawke was honoured with the Monster Energy TT People’s Challenger Award, a fan-voted recognition of his dedication, determination and commitment as a privateer competitor.

Chawke Racing dedicated their campaign to the memory of Big Jim McCarthy, one of the team’s earliest and most loyal supporters. His passing during qualifying week was deeply felt throughout the paddock and provided extra motivation for the team throughout the fortnight.

The team also extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Daniel Ingram and wishes all injured riders a full and speedy recovery.
