LIMERICK’S Mizdrea have a new EP just about ready to release. The band led by Sandra Drea is working with Dublin producer Joey Kenny (Ships, Kodaline, Sleep Thieves) on the new recordings. Since January, the band has made weekly journeys to the capital to record.
The result will be a four track EP, the track called ‘Beauty’ is a song given to Sandra by her brother, singer/ songwriter Damien Drea (dREA) as a Christmas present.
Mizdrea have refined their sound in this recording process, the group has been “very picky” about this new release and is super excited to share this new music.
Says Sandra, “We wanted to do a gig in Limerick first and test out the new songs and see the reaction.”
Mizdrea will play The Record Room, Commercial Bar this Saturday April 28. The full band sees Sandra taking on electric guitar duties. Guest musician Valerie Gunning plays violin and Tony Roche (Delorean Suite) will add percussion.
Support comes from Benoit Vibes; DJ Michelle plays her disco set on vinyl ’til late after the band.
