THE pupils at Gaelscoil Sairseal went the extra mile (and more) and took on the impressive feat of completing a relay marathon to help raise funds for the school.
Students tackled a full 42-kilometre relay marathon, starting with the youngest classes, with each pupil getting a hand on the baton.
The outstanding achievement was completed in two hours 34 minutes, with the whole school cheering on as the finish line was crossed.
It is understood that over €7,000 was raised on the day through the students efforts, which will help the school invest in new resources for its playground.
