Eir Sport have been announced as the Guinness Pro14 broadcasters

Eir Sport will be the new home for the Guinness Pro14 on Irish TV after they announced a three-year-deal to show every game of the competition.

In a groundbreaking deal, all 152 games in the Pro14 will be shown live. They have also agreed to team up with TG4 which will allow the Irish speaking station access to a limited amount of games.

“The arrival of eir sport alongside Premier Sports in the UK will be a game-changer for the Guinness Pro14,” said Martin Anayi, chief executive officer for Pro14 Rugby.

“It is another bold step in raising our championship to new levels and unlocking its vast potential.”

Susan Brady, managing director of Consumer and Small Business added: “This is another huge statement by eir sport and shows our long-term commitment to offer Irish sports fans the very best in terms of choice and quality.”

Dermot Rigley, Commerical and Marketing Director of Pro14 Rugby said: “The vision eir sport has for the Guinness Pro14 is going to smash all previous expectations for or teams and their supporters.

“The Production standards will be like nothing else seen before in the Guinness Pro14. There will be up to ten high-definition cameras capturing the action at every game.

“With pitch-side presentations and on-field interviews, it’s all part of eir sport and our goal to bring fans closer to the game.”

Sky Sports and TG4 had been sharing broadcasting duties for the last number of years in Ireland but Eir Sport’s deal is a positive step for the ever growing competition that included South African sides for the first time in this current season.
