Limerick teen hospitalised over assault at wildlife sanctuary

A SERIOUS assault on a young teenage boy on the outskirts of the city is under investigation by Gardai in Limerick.

On Saturday evening over the bank holiday weekend, a young teenage boy was with his friends at the wildlife sanctuary in Westfield Park, on the North Circular Road.

Sergeant Ber Leetch of Henry Street garda Station said that the young boys had contact with three other older males who were also there and a disagreement occurred.

As a result, a young teen was badly injured when he was assaulted by two of the older men.

The young teen was hospitalised over his injuries and Gardai at Mayorstone are investigating this assault and are hoping that anybody who was in the area of Westfields Park last Saturday around 8pm would contact them if they witnessed the assault or can be of any assistance.

Gardai at Mayorstone can be contacted on 061 456 980.
