Wreath laying ceremony in Limerick for UN service workers

A CEREMONY to remember those who lost their lives while on United Nations service is to take place in Limerick.

United Nations Peacekeepers Day (May 24) will see a number of commemoration events taking place across the country, with St Mary’s Cathedral hosting Shannonside proceedings.

A wreath laying ceremony will take place from 10.30am on Sunday May 24 hosted by the IUNVA Post 6 Limerick at the monument on the grounds of St Mary’s Cathedral, followed by a church service in the cathedral at 11.15am, with refreshments afterwards.
