THE east Limerick stronghold of Hospital is holding its annual Arts and Culture Festival, current into next Sunday September 16. And acknowledging hurling as our sporting culture supreme, Hospital will welcome the Liam MacCarthy Cup and heroic Senior team members amidst festivities.

“The festival opens on Wednesday with a Light into Darkness walk through the village,” notes PRO Sean Dalton. “We also feature a Poetry and Photographic competition and some well known artists from #ArtLimerick will visit the local secondary school. These include Jim Furlong, a well known Limerick visual artist, Roisin Meaney, Limerick writer and the Listowel poet Gabriel Fitzmaurice.”

There’s a music offer as well with Abbaesque performing in the Community Hall on Friday 14. Eilish O’Carroll, better known as Winnie in ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ brings her own original comedy show this Saturday 15.

The Liam McCarthy Cup and entourage will visit Hospital on Saturday night and in honour of the occasion, Sean Dalton is running a Limerick’s competition that features our All Ireland team in the lyric.
