INDEPENDENT councillor Brigid Teefy has highlighted the need for additional traffic calming measures in Boher village on the N24 in County Limerick due to the high volume of passing traffic and ongoing road safety concerns for residents, pedestrians and road users in the area.
Cllr Teefy was informed by Limerick Council that a traffic calming scheme was completed on the N24 at Boher in the early 2000s. The safety scheme included the construction and installation of a number of traffic calming measures over a 500m section of roadway.
These included central islands, ghost islands, public lighting, road narrowing, gateway signage, lane separation, and delineation signage. The Council agreed to carry out a revised traffic survey to assist current traffic volumes.
