Matilda’s Planet Ireland in association with Limerick City Build is proud to announce the official opening of its factory in Limerick by Pat Breen TD, Minister for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection. The factory will produce Matilda’s Blanket, an extraordinary innovation in internal wall insulation and the only one of its kind in the world. The factory will employ 30 plus staff directly and indirectly when fully operational. Matilda’s Blanket will provide clients with the necessary results to enable them to take advantage of the Better Homes Energy Programme run by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.

Matilda’s Planet has been in operation in the UK for a number of years and has installed, the fully accredited, Matilda’s Blanket system in more than 2,500 homes throughout the UK to date.

Matilda’s Planet was founded by philanthropist and social entrepreneur David Evans MBE. David is the first person to receive an MBE for corporate social responsibility. Matilda’s Planet is a social enterprise committed to its values: social responsibility, sustainability and providing practical solutions to make homes warmer and healthier, hence the association with Limerick City Build.

Speaking in advance of the official launch, Minister Breen said: “The opening of Matilda’s Planet in Limerick is a great news story on a number of levels.
