Emergency services attend scene of river rescue

EMERGENCY services including Gardai, Limerick City Fire and Rescue and members of the Limerick Marine Search and Rescue attended the scene of a river rescue this Wednesday morning.

Three units from Limerick City Fire and Rescue, together with members of the LMSR and Gardai attended the River Shannon shortly after 11am as Shannon based Irish Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 115 offered overhead support.

The alert was in response to unconfirmed reports that a person was seen entering the water.
