THE SHANNON Region Conference and Sports BureauAnnual Members Meeting for 2019 took place in The Savoy Hotel.

The conference addressed the successes of 2018 where the bureau managed to secure €7.5 million for business tourism events for the wider Shannon region.

In attendance at the event were bureau stakeholders from Limerick and Clare hotels, tourist attractions, local authorities and members of the Universities and Colleges.

Speaking at the event, Karen Brosnahan said, “Today is our Annual Stakeholders Meeting, where ourselves and Fáilte Ireland come together to tell all the trade about work in business tourism in the Shannon Region, what our plans are for 2019 and how we can all work together.

“Conference business is so lucrative, and it’s a win-win for everybody. Every conference delegate that comes to our region is worth €1,600 to the local economy, so we all need to work in partnership to give them a really wow, memorable experience,” she added.
