ENJOY late music on Friday July 26 when the Irish Youth Wind Ensemble (est. 1985) comes to UCH for the Limerick leg of a tour, 7.30pm performance.

At least 70 wind, brass and percussion players come together for an exceptional visual display for those of us who love to admire orchestra. They will create “exciting and energetic music for large scale ensemble such as Philip Sparke’s ‘Navigation March’, Martin Ellerby’s ‘Silent Movie Suite’ and James Barnes’ arrangement of Gershwin’s ‘Porgy and Bess’.”

IYWE artistic director Ronan O’Reilly will lead: “The music programme has been selected to demonstrate the technical and musical abilities of some of Ireland’s finest young wind, brass and percussion instrumentalists from which they themselves will reap a great educational appreciation for this medium.”

Booking at University Concert Hall’s site, www.uch.ie and again, note 7.30pm.
