PEOPLE living in private housing estates have a right to know who Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) are moving in next door to them.
That was the opinion of Fine Gael councillor Jerome Scanlan at this Wednesday’s meeting of Newcastle West Municipal District. He said he believes there needs to be a schedule of purchases from the five or six AHBs operating in West Limerick.
“There are people in difficult situations, but that doesn’t mean their difficulties have to be inflicted on others. People have a right to know who is moving into these estates,” Cllr Scanlan commented.
“We requested information and they are not telling us what we want to know. They are running riot in the area.”
Party colleague Tom Ruddle said that people are entitled to know who is moving in next door.
