Six decades of Charles Harper

Living Units, within LCGA's permanent collection.

ON PERY Square, Limerick City Gallery of Art is host to a retrospective by one of Ireland’s finest living artists, Charles Harper. Head of Painting at Limerick School of Art and Design for year, we are told by the gallery that “his ambition for his art ran parallel to the establishment of an exciting reputation for paining in LSAD.”

Harper was co-founder of EVA (exhibition of visual + art), the country’s only biennial event.

“The retrospective exhibition provides us with an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the development of Harper’s work over almost six decades.”

Current into January 26 and LCGA is open to the public seven days a week, free into this municipal gallery.

The artist will be in conversation with Patrick Murphy of the Royal Hibernian Arts Gallery, Dublin at the Pery Square gallery on Thursday January 23 at 1.10pm. Open to everybody and there’s more on www.gallery.limerick.ie
