A man has been remanded on bail at the District Court on charges of sexually exploiting a child and having pictures of a naked child in Limerick.
The accused appeared before the District Court on seven counts of sexually exploiting a child.
He faces a single count of possessing naked photographs of a minor.
The eight offences are alleged to have occurred in the Limerick area on various dates in 2016.
The accused cannot be named for legal reasons, in order to protect the identify of the alleged victim.
The man was due to be served with a Book of Evidence, but this was not ready, it was heard.
The charges are contrary to Section Three and Section Six of the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act, 1998.
The man was remanded on continuing bail to appear before the court again on October 9th for service of the state’s Book of Evidence.
