FIVE Limerick siblings are running 500 kilometres around the world in memory of their late mother to raise funds for Breast Cancer Ireland.

Lee, Taylor, Tara, Hayley, and Kacie Dillon, who live in London, New York, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, will run 100km in each of their respective cities.

On their GoFundMe page, the siblings said: “In memory of our mom, Liz, we are running 500k around the world in the month of May to raise funds for Breast Cancer Ireland.”

“Our mom faced breast cancer with incredible strength. She was first diagnosed in 2015, and again in 2016, and fought both battles with resilience and determination.

“Sadly, her most recent illness was very different. It progressed quickly, with symptoms that were difficult to recognise early, and we lost her after a short and incredibly tough battle. Through this experience, we’ve seen just how important awareness, early detection, and continued research are.

“In her memory, we are raising funds for Breast Cancer Ireland to support vital work in understanding symptoms, improving early diagnosis, and helping others get the best possible chance at treatment.”

The siblings are now asking people to support and share their campaign on gofundme.com/f/500k-around-the-world-in-may-for-breast-cancer-ireland.

“Our mom was so proud of the lives we built for ourselves in London, New York, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In her memory, each of her five children are running 100km in each of these cities,” the siblings said.

“Thank you for helping us honour our mom’s memory and support a cause that means so much to us.”
