Virtual Room open to help inform public about the Limerick Development Plan

LIMERICK City and County Council is leading the way in innovation when it comes to consultation for the Limerick Development Plan with a new ‘Virtual Room’.

The ‘Virtual Room’ is an online consultation room that has been set up to allow members of the public to access a ‘virtual consultation’ of the new Limerick Development Plan 2022-2028.

At a time when the ‘traditional’ drop-in consultation evenings are not an option due to restrictions imposed as a result of Covid-19, the ‘Virtual Room’ allows the same experience but from your own home.

By navigating the room, members of the public can:

  • Listen to the welcome note from Mayor of the City and County of Limerick Cllr Michael Collins and Limerick City and County Council’s Chief Executive Dr Pat Daly
  • Find our more information on what is a Development Plan
  • Watch a series of videos explaining the UN Sustainability Goals and each of the Limerick Development Plan’s eight themes.

Information on ‘how to make a submission’ and further links to the ‘Issues Paper’ and background papers are also found within the room.

The ‘Virtual Room’ is in addition to the usual suite of channels available to the people of Limerick to aid in this initial public consultation process of the Limerick Development Plan.

These included in-person meetings, a webinar, which remains available for viewing, meetings in all the municipal districts and two in Merchant’s Quay and appointments.

To view the ‘Virtual Room’ log on to Limerick.ie/Limerick-Development-Plan and click on the Virtual Room panel.

Members of the public can also make a submission through our online portal MyPoint also accessible via Limerick.ie/Limerick-Development-Plan.

The deadline for submissions for this phase of the Limerick Development Plan is Monday 12 October 2020. Submissions can be made via MyPoint | devplan@limerick.ie | Forward/ Strategic Planning, Limerick City and County Council, Merchant’s Quay, Limerick V94 EH90.
