Gardai keeping “open mind” after boy (4) suffers life threatening injuries during “fall” at Limerick house

GARDAÍ said they are keeping an “open mind” in an investigation they launched at the weekend after a boy was found with “life threatening injuries” at a house in Limerick.
The four year old boy is said to have sustained critical injuries during a fall at a house at Rathbane, located on the south of the Limerick City, last Saturday.
Informed sources said the boy suffered “a significant head injury”.
The boy was initially rushed by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick before being transferred to Cork University Hospital and later on he was transferred to Temple Street Children’s Hospital where he remains in a “very serious” condition.
“Gardaí at Roxboro Road, Limerick, are investigating all the circumstances surrounding an incident where a male child (4 years) sustained serious life-threatening injuries at a house in Rathbane, Limerick on Saturday, 13th March 2021,” a garda spokesman said.
“Investigating Gardaí are maintaining an open mind in this investigation and An Garda Síochána is not providing any further information at this time,” they added.
