Jerry O’Sullivan, Limerick football U20 manager will take his side to Thurles this Thursday to take on Tipperary in Munster Championship action. Tickets for the game sold out quickly indicating what an exciting game lies ahead.
Speaking ahead of the tie O’Sullivan recognised how tough this tie could be, but also how they will give it their all and look to demonstrate their experience to get the victory while admitting there is little between the two sides.
The Limerick manager said:
“We’re looking forward to Thursday evening, going back to Thurles…Hopefully we’ll get out on the right side of it again”.
“At U20 level there wouldn’t be anything between the four counties in Munster”
“At that level a bounce of a ball can go anyway… We were just fortunate that the last couple of years we got out on the right side of it”.
Limerick will look to repeat recent victories against Tipperary in recent outings with another important win in what have been tightly contested fixtures.
The belief in the talent pool that Limerick possess is clear from their manager and believes many of the current players within the academy can move onto the next level as O’Sullivan added:
“You have groups of players coming forward from the academy that can step it up to under 20 level and that can only benefit Limerick football”.
When discussing what may lie ahead if Limerick can grab a victory the Treaty sides manager said:
“You are avoiding Kerry, you are avoiding Cork so there is a massive opportunity if you do look forward to the end goal.”
Limerick will have a fully available squad for the game with only one absence in Dylan Moloney.

O’Sullivan has named his team with Brian Foley to captain the side. Foley is one of three players featuring in a third successive Munster campiagn.
As such, O’Sullivan will look to grab a Munster Championship win and illustrate the hard work they have put in as he said:
“The experience that we bring will benefit us Thursday evening.
“Dylan Moloney won’t be available to us for selection but other than that apart from any slight kncoks we should be good to go.
“They’ve put in a lot of hard work in the last six, seven weeks”
The Limerick v Tipperary game will start at 7.30 with the winner moving on to a semi-final with Clare or Waterford.
