Weekend sport | What to watch and where to find it

THIS week has some exciting sport action to pick from on television. We will walk you through what events will take place, when they will take place and where you can find them.

 

SATURDAY

 

Saturday begins with the return of soccer in the form of the Premier League as Manchester United will take on Leeds in Old Trafford from 12.30pm on BT Sport 1. Championship action will be shown live from 12.30pm also as Peterborough face Derby County on Sky Sports Football. Chelsea will play Crystal Palace at 3pm and can be found on Premier Sports 1. The 5.30 kick off will involve Norwich City and Liverpool, the game will be live on Sky Sports Premier League. Coverage of the Late kick off in the Championship will be shown on Sky Sports Football as Swansea City will host Sheffield United at 8pm. Highlights of the action can be found on BBC 1 as Match of the Day will begin at 10.20pm.

Rugby will involve New Zealand and Australia facing off against one another at 8.05am from the Rugby Championship and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Action. The same channel will have the meeting between South Africa and Argentina in the same competition from 4.05pm.

 

Cricket will be shown from 10.15am as England and India face off. The game can be found on Sky Sports Cricket. West Indies will take on the challenge of Pakistan at 3.45pm on BT Sport 3, Followed shortly by the Wyndham Championship at 6pm, again all on the same channel.

 

Golf comes from the English Open and will be broadcast on Sky Sports Golf at 11.30am. The Women’s Scottish Open will be shown on the same channel at 5pm.

 

Horse Racing will be shown on UTV at 1.25pm from Newmarket, Ripon and Newbury.

 

GAA fans will have Women’s Senior Football semi-finals to look forward to as Cork play Meath at 1.45pm while Dublin go up against Mayo at 3.45pm. All the action can be caught on TG4. The highly anticipated clash between Dublin and Mayo in the All-Ireland senior Football semi-final will be live from 6pm on Sky Sports Arena and RTÉ 2.

 

SUNDAY

 

Premier League action will resume on the Sunday with soccer fans having the chance to enjoy Newcastle United facing West Ham United at 2pm and Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City will follow at 4.30pm. Both games will be live on Sky Sports Premier League. Match of the Day 2 will be on BBC 1 from 10.30pm.

 

Cricket continues with England and India on Sky Sports Cricket from 10.15am, highlights will be shown on BBC 2 at 7pm. West Indies v Pakistan will also resume on Sunday at 3.45pm on BT Sport 1.

 

The English Open will be live once again on Sky Sports Golf from 11.30am. The Women’s Scottish Open also resumes from 5pm while the Wyndham Championship continues on the same channel from 6pm.

 

Moto GP fans can tune in for 12.30pm on BT Sport 2 for the Grand Prix of Austria.

 

GAA action will include Offaly v Roscommon from 12.45pm in the Under-20 Football Final. The Sunday Game will be available on RTÉ 2 at 9.30pm.
