New course in media at LCCR will be free to the public

You’ll learn technical skills, interviewing and production skills

FOR anyone interested in creating unique and innovative podcasts and radio shows, a new QQI Level 3 evening course hosted by Limerick City Community Radio and delivered by Wired FM (MIC) will provide a blended learning experience to make programming that you’re passionate about.
The course is provided by Craol and is a nationally accredited course leading to a Level 3 (component) on the National Framework of Qualifications, awarded by QQI.
Station Manager at Wired FM (Mary I College), Ray Burke will be teaching the course.
“You’ll explore how radio and TV shapes the world we live in. You’ll learn technical skills, interviewing and production skills, and in groups you’ll make programming dictated by your own interests and passions

“Community Radio is a worldwide movement that is about inclusivity, accessibility, freedom of expression and everybody’s right to communicate.
“We especially encourage female participants, and members of marginalised communities.”
Ray also referred Limerick Post to a quote from a previous course participant, Pat Rutherford, who reviewed his experience of the course
“I had never been in a radio studio before, but the pace of tutoring and learning was geared to each person’s individual needs.
“The outcome of this was that we learned about structure, about sequencing, about editing and very importantly about content. Overall, it was a great rejuvenating and rewarding experience.”
The QQI Level 3 introductory Media Expression course runs weekly from Monday November 8 (7pm) to early February 2022 (Breaking for December).
