#BREAKING Truck driver dies in County Limerick crash

GARDAÍ are investigating a fatal road traffic collision between a car and an articulated truck  at around 2.50am this morning at Killeheen, Rathkeale. 

The driver of the truck, a man in his early 30s and sole occupant of the truck, was fatally injured in the collision.

His body has been removed from the scene to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem will take place in due course.

The driver of the car, a man in his early 50s, who was also the sole occupant of the vehicle, was taken to University Hospital Limerick with non-life threatening injuries.

The road is currently closed and the services of forensic collision investigators have been requested. Local diversions are in place. 

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who were travelling in the area at the time and may have dash-camera footage are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
