Drombanna road safety improvement works welcomed

Limerick Fine Gael councillor Sarah Kiely

A NEW footpath and streetlights along the stretch of road from the day care centre to the Four Elms pub in Drombanna has been approved by Limerick City and County Council.

Fine Gael councillor for the area, Sarah Kiely described the news as a “good start” but says more safety measures are needed.

“I have been working with community representatives, numerous engineers and council executives on this issue since my election in 2019 and I’m delighted to see that it is finally being progressed.

“The work approved by the council will also act as a traffic calming measure as the road will be narrowed. If further traffic calming is required, I have had a commitment that will be looked at once these works are completed,” Cllr Kiely said.
