Limerick hurling manager John Kiely issued a hugely positive injury update last night with confirmation that Peter Casey, Barry Murphy and Cian Lynch have all returned to training ahead of the All Ireland Semi Final with Galway.
โCian is making fantastic progress through his rehab and hasnโt had any setback throughout the process. The medical team have worked wonders with him, they set a plan and the timeline is bang in place,โ

โHeโs re-engaged with training so the next week to ten days are going to be key in terms of his involvement on the day, but in terms of where we want him to be, heโs exactly there.
โThat was always the hope, the plan. Obviously, weโre not entirely through that plan yet, but weโre very happy with where we are right now.โ
Kiely also confirmed that Peter Casey and Barry Murphy – who both fell foul to cruciate injuries last summer โ are now back in full training and available for selection.
โThankfully the injury list isnโt very long, weโre in a very good place,โ said Kiely. โWe came out of the Munster final without major difficulties and having the extra time gave time to get a bit of rest.โ
โThe headline ones are Peter and Barry have done fantastically well and have resumed full training in recent weeks โ theyโre available for selection and thatโs where theyโre at. They have fully completed their recovery.
โItโd be remiss of me not to say how hard theyโve worked to put themselves in that position, theyโve worked tremendously hard. The medical team โ with Cairbre OโCaireallain, Mark Melbourne, Dr James Ryan and Sean McAuliffe. Theyโve worked really hard to get those lads back to the condition theyโre in.โ
