Man arrested in Limerick City drugs raid

GARDAร arrested a man after seizing drugs with an estimated street value of more than โ‚ฌ50,000 during a search operation in Limerick City yesterday.

As part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in Limerick, Gardaรญ attached to the Limerick Divisional Drug Unit and members of the Armed Support Unit carried out a planned search of a residential property in the Kileely area of Limerick City.

During searches Gardaรญ seized quantities of cannabis, cocaine and cannabis resin worth in excess of โ‚ฌ50,000, along with โ‚ฌ3,300 in cash andย drug preparation paraphernalia.

A man in his thirties was arrested at the scene and taken to Henry Street Garda Station where he was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis and investigations are ongoing.
