IMPROVEMENT works are being undertaken by Limerick City and County Council to improve safety at Collins Cross junction on the approach R506 road to Murroe.

Welcoming the decision to proceed with the improvements, Limerick City Fine Gael TD Kieran O’Donnell said that, along with local councillor John Egan, he had been working with the council to upgrade road safety measures at the junction.

“We are delighted that the council is significantly improving the sightlines for vehicles approaching from the Murroe side and we have been on site to see the works underway”.

Cllr Egan said that as a local councillor, he was fully aware of the need to improve the safety at this very busy junction and having these significant works now underway was to be greatly welcomed.

“The poor sightlines are a concern to drivers and local residents and these improvement works should significantly improve safety for all road users,” he added
