Adare are queens of Munster Camogie

LIMERICK camogie received a massive boost when Adare won the Munster Junior Championship by defeating Brickey Rangers of Waterford yesterday.

The magnificent victory comes only weeks after Adare edged-out neighbours Croagh/Kilfinny in the County Final and very soon after the unexpected but merited away success against Tulla of Clare at the semi-final stage of the provincial championship.

Under the astute management of Michelle Gallagher-Brennan, first-time finalists Adare  produced a stellar performance to win the provincial title.

Caoimhe Costello, who is in the mix for an All-Star at the end of the month, contributed a seven points for Adare in their 1-9 to 0-8 triumph, the goal arriving in the opening stages from Aeibhín Houlihan.

The Limerick kingpins had led by three points at the interval.

Meanwhile, 2019 All-Star Niamh Mulcahy hit a match-winning nine points as Ahane toppled Kileedy, 1-13 to 0-9, in the Limerick Senior Final at Ballyagran.

It was Ahane’s 13th title.
