Vicky’s Limerick tribe to attend Kilkenny celebration

The late Vicky Phelan

LIMERICK friends and colleagues of the late Vicky Phelan will travel to County Kilkenny this Sunday to pay their final respects to the courageous women’s health campaigner.

Vicky’s family have announced there will be a memorial Mass in her native Mooncoin on November 27 at 1pm.

The mother of two, who lived in Annacotty, passed away on November 14 at Milford Care Centre. Her family and close friends said a final goodbye in a private funeral last week.

In a statement issued earlier this week, the Phelan and Kelly families said that they will be “forever grateful’ for the public love and support offered to them and to Vicky.

The family said “Vicky was a friend to many and was keen to ensure that all who wanted had an opportunity to join with us in a celebration of her life and pay their final respects.”

As seats in the church will be limited, there will be a live stream of the memorial service here

Speaking about the planned Mooncoin memorial, the family said that music will feature with “a few of her favourite musicians playing a few of her favourite tunes on the day.”
