€1.25 million contract for Limerick village renewal scheme

LIMERICK City and County Council have awarded the contract for the €1.25 million Patrickswell Village Renewal Scheme which is planned to get underway in mid-February 2023.

P&D Lydon Contractors have been appointed to deliver this scheme and it is anticipated works will be completed within six to nine months.

Works will see the extension of Phase One of Patrickswell Village Renewal Scheme, which was completed in 2017.

This scheme will also see the enhancement of many aspects of Patrickswell village including road realignment, junction improvements, reconstruction of footpaths, pedestrian crossing upgrades, landscaping and public realm upgrades, street lighting and utility upgrades.

Welcoming the investment, Cllr Dan McSweeney (FG) said: “This is amazing news for the village of Patrickswell to see in excess of €1.25 million being invested on our main street. These works will enhance what we have to offer in Patrickswell”.

“I have worked tirelessly since my election to secure this much needed funding for this scheme. I am delighted to see the hard work by council staff has helped to secure this funding.

“With a number of new homes coming on stream in Patrickswell over the next number of months this investment will transform our village and make it one of the best places to live and work,” he concluded.
