LIMERICK engineering firm OMC Technologies has announced a €4 million investment, the creation of 40 new jobs and the appointment of a new board of management as part of a major expansion strategy.

The company, which provides steel manufacturing and surface treatment services, says the €4 million investment will enhance their materials processing capabilities and improve the efficiency of their manufacturing processes and capacity.

The firm also has plans to make a number of additional key investments – including a new 30,000 sq. ft mild steel fabrication facility, and an upgrade of its head office on the Ballysimon Road.

OMC, which has been in operation for more than 40 years in Limerick, also has plans to hire 40 personnel to add to its 200 strong team across various roles.

The new board of management is made up of four senior OMC staff joining as Associate Directors and Padraic Comerford, son of OMC Founder and Chairman Tom Comerford, being appointed as Deputy Managing Director.
