Eric is a Limerick man with a message

Eric Clarke who has been appointed Communications Officer with Limerick City and County Council.

A LIMERICK television journalist has moved to the other side of the camera as he takes up the role of Communications Officer with Limerick City and County Council.

Eric Clarke is a familiar face and voice in Limerick having worked as a journalist on local radio and on national television stations. He joins the local authority from Virgin Media News where he has been the Mid-West Reporter for the last six years.

The Limerick native was Regional Correspondent with UTV Ireland for two years and spent eight years as a reporter and presenter on Limerick’s Live 95. He is a previous winner of the PPI National Radio ‘News Reporter of the Year’ award and has a number of other accolades to his name.

“During my career as a Limerick-based journalist, I have witnessed an incredibly positive transformation of the city and county,” he said.

“It has been great to be able to report on developments in terms of both infrastructure and reputation that have helped to change the national conversation. I am now looking forward to playing a central role in helping to communicate the ongoing changes that will cement Limerick’s reputation as an exciting destination to live, work and visit.”
