Planning approval for 96-unit Limerick housing scheme

A NEW residential development is to be built on the outskirts of Limerick City following the granting of planning permission by Limerick City and County Council.

The development at Baunacloka, Raheen will consist of 96 units , including two detached houses.

16 semi-detached houses, 40 terraced houses and 38 apartments in two four storey blocks will make up the rest of the residential development.

Permission has also been granted for a creche on the site, with roads, pavements and car parking spaces to be provided by the developer.

Limerick-based Rockspring Developments are the company behind the successful application which will also see a pumping station, with a pumped rising main connection to support the new homes.

Foul and surface water drainage will also be provided, along with all ancillary site works.

Objections were raised by locals concerned about the height of the apartment blocks in relation to he existing housing in the area, increased volumes of traffic in the area, as well as concerns about the potential for anti-social behaviour.
