‘The Devil Wears Farah’ set to become a Limerick classic

THE buzz is growing around the much-anticipated memoir of a 1970s Limerick childhood that is ‘The Devil Wears Farah’. Limerick Post has learned that a launch date of June 14 is now confirmed with Castletroy Park Hotel as the venue.
The author, C.J. MacCarthy, has captured the atmosphere and spirit of the time and place in a laugh-out-loud account that seems destined to become a small classic.
The publishers, Umbrella, are promising us a work that is as touching and evocative as it is rude and ribald: ‘Half Hug, Half Head-butt, All Humour’ as the tagline has it.
From Castletroy and a past ‘inmate’ of Sexton Street, MacCarthy is a veteran contributor to several national papers and radio stations. His love of Limerick, its people, its attitude, its allegiances, its sense of itself and quiet certainties seeps out of every page and into the reader like superchip gravy out of the carrier bag and into the car seat fabric.
‘The Devil Wears Farah’ will be available on Amazon in paperback and hardback from Wednesday June 14 and other distributions will be announced on www.herobooks.digital.
