A LIMERICK-based home carer has been honoured for her fantastic work in the community during a special day of celebrations at home care provider Comfort Keepers.
Local carer Sinead Hartridge, from St Patrick’s Road in Limerick City, also received a recognition award for her 10 years of service with the company.
On being nominated for this year’s award, Sinead said: “I am delighted and very proud to have been nominated this year for the work I love doing, helping my clients to stay safe and happy at home for as long as possible. It’s a hugely rewarding job knowing that the people I am caring for have been helped by my visits.”
Clients, community partners, staff, and carers at Comfort Keepers’ office in Limerick celebrated Comfort Keepers’ National Day of Joy, titled ‘Live the Joy’ in June aimed at helping everyone find joy in everyday moments.
The day saw much to celebrate for Comfort Keepers’ outside of the National Day of Joy, as the celebrations marked 25 years since the organisation was founded, care team members who have been with the company for more than 10 years were lauded, and clients who turned 100 in the past year were also toasted.
The company also announced its finalists for Comfort Keepers Carer of the Year 2023 at the event.
During the celebrations, Sinead was announced as one of 11 finalist for the Comfort Keepers Carer of the Year 2023 award for her “dedication and passion for her work and for making a positive impact on her clients’ daily lives”.
Collette Gleeson, Managing Director of Comfort Keepers Ireland, said: “Our teams all across the country are made up of amazing individuals providing outstanding support and uplifting in-home care to the most vulnerable in our society and their families. Sinead goes above and beyond for her clients and is a great representative for Comfort Keepers and our quality care.”
