Limerick teenagers bring some colour to Nicholas Street

Nicholas Street is the home of a new art exhibition launched by local Limerick teenagers last week.

Facilitated by artist Kathy Tiernan, the exhibition is the culmination of five weeks of workshops with local teens who developed their works from first sketch to the finished pieces currently on display at King John’s Castle and Limerick Civic Trust, as well as other locations across Nicholas Street.

“The emphasis was on inclusion and hopefully some new friendships developed along the path to a finished artwork,” said Kathy Tiernan.

Kathy explained: “The idea is to bring young adults together and give them the confidence to display their work as a group.”
