HAVING raised more than €100,000 in the last number of years, the Cook Medical Mini Marathon is set to take to the streets once again this October.

Now in its 25th year, the Mini Marathon was launched by Mayor Gerald Mitchell, returning to the University of Limerick on Sunday October 8.

Having changed from previously being a women-only event, this year’s race encourages all to turn out to run, jog, or walk the 5km and 10km courses.

Race Director John Cleary said: “We’re delighted to launch this year’s Cook Medical Mini Marathon. Not only does it encourage participants to come together to have fun while keeping fit, it also raises money for charity.”

Event organisers hope that this years all-inclusive race will continue to raise much-needed funds for charity.

The event kicks off at noon on Sunday 8 October, at the University of Limerick Sports Arena.

Participants of all ages will run, jog, or walk the 5 km and 10 km courses at their own pace while raising funds for personally chosen charities in Limerick, the Mid West, and nationwide.
