John was raised at the awards as being the epitome of company values.

“Passengers always make a point of coming up and commending him on his attitude and how he goes about his work always with a smile,” a statement from Iarnród Éireann said.

“The person who nominated him said they had travelled on a service with John recently and most of the customers greeted him by name and were delighted to see him which says a lot about how he personally influences their on board experience for the better.”
