A BURST watermain on the outskirts of Limerick City is causing supply disruptions to customers this afternoon (Friday).

Crews from Uisce Éireann are working to restore supply after a watermain burst in the Ballysimon Road area of the city.

Uisce Éireann say that customers may experience a loss of water supply, or a loss of pressure to their supply.

Uisce Éireann’s Duane O’Brien said that the utility are working to restore supply as soon as possible.

“We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we would like to thank impacted customers in the Ballysimon Road and surrounding areas for their patience while we work on repairs and restore the water supply as quickly as possible,” he said.

Works are scheduled to be completed by 3pm this afternoon, but customers are advised that it could take up to three hours for supply to fully return.
