URC opening round win for Munster

IN THEIR first competitive outing of 2023/24, Munster impressed in a 34-21 bonus point defeat of Sharks at a well-populated (attendance 11,250 approx) Thomond Park.

Edwin Edogbo, Diarmuid Barron, Antoine Frisch, Andrew Conway (his 50th for the club in 150 appearances), and debutant Ethan Coughlan scored the tries with man-of-the-match Joey Carbery adding nine points off the tee.

Calvin Nash was a late Munster injury withdrawal, while Tom Ahern featured for the first time in a year.
