GERARD and Margaret Reidy, Loughill West parents of deceased organ donor Miriam Reidy, again joined the special commemoration service for organ donors, recipients, and families organised by the Irish Kidney Association.

Miriam, who passed away in 1997, was memorialised at the service by her father brought a Forget Me Not candle to the altar.

More than 1,200 people from all over Ireland converged in Mullingar for the service, which honours organ donors and celebrates their gift of life to others.

The service has become an annual event to remember loved ones and, for recipients, to honour and give thanks for the ‘gift of life’ they have received.
