Hunt Museum takes home Heritage Council Award

Seeing Without Sight was awarded the Inclusive Heritage Award by the National Heritage council.

THE Hunt Museum took home a prestigious prize at a recent awards ceremony held by the National Heritage Council for Heritage Week.

The local favourite museum took home the Inclusive Heritage Award, which recognises events that have made a special effort to share heritage with all in the community – including those who do not have local roots or have additional needs.

The winning event, Seeing Without Sight, saw a multisensory exhibition held at the Hunt Museum that enabled visitors to experience a selection of museum pieces through tactile displays and audio descriptions.

The annual awards laud individuals and groups who promote the preservation and proliferation of local heritage.
