LIMERICK City and County Council has been asked to investigate the feasibility of setting up and running ‘Community Expo’ evenings for their communities.

Fianna Fรกil councillor Martin Ryan believes that this would give all clubs and social groups the opportunity to showcase their clubs to allow people the chance to become members or join as an organising volunteer.

In response, Seamus O’Connor, senior executive officer with the Council’s Community Department, said that the local authority acknowledges the need to promote and support volunteering.

“The Council will investigate the feasibility of running a Community Expo to promote volunteering across the city and county in 2024,” Mr O’Connor explained.
