Limerick blood donation clinics to bolster nation’s blood supply

A NUMBER of lifesaving blood donation clinics will be held across County Limerick in the coming week as the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) attempts to bolster the nation’s supply.

According to the IBTS, around 70,000 patients have transfusions in Irish hospitals every year, or 1,000 each week.

The clinics will take place in the Castletroy Park Hotel (January 14, 11.50pm to 3.10pm), the Longcourt Hotel in Newcastle West, January 16 and 17, 4.50pm to 8.10pm), and Doon Community Centre (January 18, 4pm to 8.10pm).
