Concerns raised over anti-social behaviour in Baggot Estate

Cllr Daniel Butler

FINE Gael councillor Daniel Butler has raised concerns relating to anti-social behaviour in the Baggot Estate as part of the Council’s Active Travel scheme proposals for the area.

The local authority is proposing an Active Travel scheme to improve pedestrian and cycle linkage between R526 Ballinacurra Road and Rosbrien Road through the Baggot Estate Nature Park.

The scheme proposes to link directly with South Circular Road.

“Concerns raised are fair, real, and genuine,” Cllr Butler said.

“The top of that list of concerns is anti-social activity in the area especially along the riverbank and under the flyover where large groups of youths have gathered in the past.”

“Other issues raised are largely connected to anti-social activity such as issues with scramblers,” he said.
