PUPILS at Bilboa National School in Cappamore will be working hard for a good cause this St Brigid’s Day in the hopes of raising funds for children less fortunate on foreign shores.

Tim Buckley’s third class group will be selling their handmade St Brigid’s crosses for the bargain price of €2, with all proceeds going to the Happy Kids Foundation (HKF) in Poland.

HKF is a charitable organisation in the Polish city of  Łódź that runs 23 ‘safe houses’ for young orphans.

Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the foundation has housed 1,500 Ukrainian children, providing them a place of safety.
