PUPILS at Bilboa National School in Cappamore will be working hard for a good cause this St Brigidโ€™s Day in the hopes of raising funds for children less fortunate on foreign shores.

Tim Buckleyโ€™s third class group will be selling their handmade St Brigidโ€™s crosses for the bargain price of โ‚ฌ2, with all proceeds going to the Happy Kids Foundation (HKF) in Poland.

HKF is a charitable organisation in the Polish city of ย ลรณdลบ that runs 23 โ€˜safe housesโ€™ for young orphans.

Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the foundation has housed 1,500 Ukrainian children, providing them a place of safety.
