Ardscoil Rís run-up against Nenagh CBS in the final of the Dr Harty Cup (schools senior hurling) at Cusack Park in Ennis on Saturday (1pm).

The Limerick side, jointly managed by Liam Cronin and Derek Larkin, are in search of a sixth title, whereas Nenagh, the surprise packets of the championship, are seeking a maiden victory after four previous unsuccessful decider appearances.

In a cracking semi-final, Ardscoil squeezed past Thurles CBS, 0-18 to 1-14.

In that outing, Clare minor Marc O’Brien knocked over the winner at the death.

His county colleagues in Danny Chaplin and Diarmuid Stritch are key figures for Ardscoil, as are Dromin-Athlacca pair Seán Morrissey and Daniel Scully, Fintan Fitzgerald (Mungret St Paul’s), and goalkeeper Fionn O’Brien (Bruree).
