THE IRISH Blood Transfusion Service has launched a major drive to recruit 15,000 new blood donors in 2024.

“The demand for blood is constant and on any given day 200 patients receive transfusions in Irish hospitals,” a spokesperson for the IBTS said.

As part of the drive, local clinics will take place across Limerick.

Rathkeale House Hotel will host a blood drive on March 6 and 7 from 4.50pm to 8.10pm.
