Schools double for South Limerick

The South Limerick team that won the Neville Cup with mentors Katie Heelan, John English and Edel Cunningham.

SOUTH Limerick scored a marvellous double at the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Inter-divisional Finals, staged at Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale.

In the hurling decider (Mackey Cup), South squeezed past West Limerick, 2-5 to 2-4, and South also beat West, 1-2 to 0-3, in the camogie final (Neville Cup).

South hurling were skippered by Páidi Herlily.

South camogie selectors were Kate Heelan, John English and Edel Cunningham. The side was captained by Chloe Costello.

Tireless promoter Joe Lyons was on hand to present the cups.

All fixtures were refereed by Philip Dee.

For many years, Allianz Cumann na mBunscol has produced stars such as William O’Donoghue, Seán Finn, Rebecca Delee, Adam English, Róisín Ambrose, Tom Morrissey and Diarmaid Byrnes.
