
GARDAÍ are investigating after a cyclist lost his life following a road traffic incident in Limerick City this past Tuesday.
Gardaí have appealed to the public for anyone who may have witnessed or recorded the incident to come forward to help in their investigations.
According to Gardaí, the fatal road tragic incident took place shortly after 2pm on Tuesday (May 26) on the Dublin Road in the Mountshannon area of Limerick City.
Gardaí said the incident involved a bicycle, and a male cyclist, aged in his 40s, “left the scene and travelled to a domestic residence”.
Gardaí said that, following the incident, “the male cyclist received treatment by emergency services” and was “pronouced deceased during the afternoon of Tuesday 26th May, 2026”.
Now, Gardaí are appealing for anyone who might have witnesses the incident to come forward.
They appealed especially for “road users who may have camera footage (including dashcam) and were travelling on the Dublin Road, Mountshannon, Limerick City, between 1.30pm and 2.10pm on Tuesday 26th May 2026” to make the footage available to investigating Gardaí.
